Venezuela attack approved by oil companies but not Congress
According to 47, his Venezuela attack that kidnapped President Maduro was previewed to oil companies but not Congress. As Congress is controlled by the same wealthy corporations that control all U.S. presidents, it would have been a formality only. I imagine far more actionable input from Chevron than from my spineless senators Susan Collins and Angus King. Up their the elbows in the till, neither will oppose the status quo that makes them, personally, wealthy.
Threats and belligerent aspirations are thick on the ground these days.
The list of who should beware is long! Cuba, Iran, Mexico, Colombia, Yemen… Greenland.
Oh did you think I meant the list of people in the Epstein files should beware? We’ve only seen 1% of the files— heavily redacted — and it’s clear that 47 desperately needs the dramatic distraction of new hot wars.
Activists haven’t forgotten about Zionist war crimes in Palestine. What links Venezuela and Palestine besides being in the empire’s crosshairs? Draconian police actions to silence those in the U.S. who object to invading and bombing other countries.
Note that Plichta is wearing a keffiyeh to show solidarity with Palestinians, but is arrested for showing solidarity with Venezuelans criticizing 47’s war crimes in Venezuela that her taxes fund. Allegedly arrested for obstructing the roadway, her arrest while giving an interview clearly shows she is standing on the sidewalk. Later she shouted “Free Palestine!” to supporters when being released from jail.
As a former preschool teacher myself, I applaud her leadership — along with that of Ms. Rachel. How about we put preschool teachers in charge of U.S. foreign policy and see how few people we can kill in 2026?
Also, let’s put preschool teachers in charge of releasing the Epstein files. The old pedophiles currently in power clearly have no intention of following the lawful order to do so.
If you’re in Maine this weekend, join us on Saturday to stand in Saco in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and Palestine. If not, find a protest near you.
EDITED to include link to video of Jessica Plichta being released from jail.

The Venezuelan grab reminds me of the situation in Iran when we arranged to have Mosaddegh overthrown after he had nationalized the oil infrastructure owned by Britain. The Shah then took power and allowed a consortium of oil companies (US gets a big win here) to jointly own the infrastructure along with the British.
The most arrogant thing Trump has said is that we are now in charge of Venezuela's oil but will benevolently see to it that the Venezuelans benefit...after US companies get "paid back" for their investment. In other words, Venezuela taking control of its own natural resource is a theft from the US! It's exactly what Britain said about Iranian oil.
The US has no need for Venezuelan oil as we are already the top producer in the world. It is all about power and control of oil.
BTW - the military budget is up to $1 trillion and the Trump administration is requesting a 50% increase for 2027.
