My heart goes out to these Palestinian families. I can only imagine if someone had targeted my son like this. Devastating. When ex-military keep shooting people like this, we have to consider that it's a form of blowback from our overmilitarized country's ongoing involvement in wars in other countries where we have no business being. We need to hold our media accountable for its role in normalizing extreme violence, too. Our politicians, our greedy people making money on wars on Wall Street, our industrial complex that profits from the sale of weapons and warfare. We need to stop accepting the militarization of our relations with other countries and our very economy as normal. It's not.
I hear you, Ariel. It's hard to imagine this happening to our own children and how gut wrenching that would be. It appears, though, as if I used a source that had the wrong photo for the shooter. Here's some more updated information:
This is the official family coordinated fundraiser for the 3 Palestinian students who are survivors of the shooting in Burlington. Please give what you can & share as widely as possible. Hisham Awartani has a spinal injury & may not walk again.
You know this isn't him right?
I do now. You can read my explanation and correction here if interested: https://open.substack.com/pub/went2thebridge/p/vt-shooter-libertarians-want-trans?r=3alev&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

My source for the photo in my blog was this early reporting: https://channel3now.com/2023/11/27/48-year-old-jason-eaton-arrested-after-shooting-3-palestinian-decent-students-in-vermont-burlington-police-investigating/
I hope they get better. I know one is in Hospital was not clear if the other 2 are OK?
The other two were also shot but not as seriously injured. I believe one of them has already been released from hospital.
Good to hear. Just hope the other is OK
