Thank you for this post! This was centering and refreshing for me. So tired of seeing people's sudden feigned grief at the outcome. How short are our memories? Where was their empathy and grief all along over the past year for the tens of thousands of Palestinians killed by US bombs? Some claim it will be worse now, but what does "worse" actually mean to the mother already grieving her children? There are no more weapons that can be given than the billions of dollars of munitions that are already flowing freely to the Zionist entity. The second clause of the Hamas statement is particularly striking -- "...all successive U.S. administrations, since the occupation of Palestine in 1948, have held negative stances on the Palestinian cause. They have consistently been the primary supporter of the zionist occupation in all fields..." The people who have been fighting and struggling against this all along are all too familiar with the feeling of being betrayed by the world, and have come to expect it. A system that commits the crimes the US government has, that shows such flagrant disregard for the value of life, is simply too deeply corrupted to be fixed from the inside - it needs to be uprooted, toppled, overthrown, for all of our sakes. See you on the streets!

Pressuring Trump will have zilch results. Now, if a wealthy West Asian country or a consortium of Arab countries were to offer a substantial bribe to Trump, that could work, that is if Arabs really support the Palestinians and want to end the genocide. We all know that Trump can be bought. He's made it clear that he's up for sale, and his overloard, Elon Musk, will surely push the envelope on ensuring the privileges of billionaires.

Put together a proposal that allows Trump to benefit personally, say licensing arrangements or any kind of dubious proposal that would bring money into his personal pockets, then no doubt a deal could be made. Of course it would have to be done secretly, and if word got out, he would need to have plausible deniability, but he's now got incredible power, and obviously the Americans who elected him don't give a rat's ass whether he's a convicted felon, rapist, tax cheat or liar, so maybe it wouldn't matter anyways. The main thing is to stop the genocide of Palestinians.
