As Americans, we need to plan for the inevitable collapse of the American empire, so that the most vulnerable do not suffer more. It{s important for the United States to make it into the paradigm shift that will expand opportunities that is already happening in most of the rest of the world. However, the United States appears to be dead set on trying to maintain hegemony, using our military and economic warfare with sanctions and high tariffs (as well as many other acts of hostility towards other countries), that we are being left out, and it seems that we will go all the way to nuclear war and annhilate everyone instead of making the adjustments to a multinodal world. Peace activists have to figure out a way for us to transition out of this deadly game.
One quibble: Bezos owns the Washington Post, not the New York Times. I know it can be hard to tell them apart, just like it was hard to tell the difference between Pravda and Izvestia back in the day.
Count me in the 40% this year. I feel no obligation to participate in a completely corrupted electoral system that gives us such poor choices, and that includes the Greens. Why should I validate it? What's in it for me and mine? What's in it for my community, my family, my neighbors, my coworkers?
